The Australian Merino
The Australian Merino is a superior “all purpose” sheep that we can all be proud of breeding. Its ability to adapt and thrive in areas where other sheep may fail is testament to its versatility. It is the ultimate wool producer, actively competes well on the meat front and is a high value mother for prime lambs. The Aims of AASMB
The Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders Limited (AASMB) are the peak organisation for Australian Merino Breeders, representing the six state Merino organisations and, through them, some nine hundred registered studs across Australia, who in turn provide Australian Merino/Poll Merino genetics and other services to the Stud and Commerical Sheep Industries both in Australia and internationally.
Our principal aims are Australian Merino Stud flock registry; fostering the breeding and improvement of Australian Merino/Poll Merino sheep; as well as promotion and advocacy for the Stud and Commercial Merino Industries.
