Congratulations to the Hogg family of Navanvale stud in West Australia whose magnificent Merino Pair entrants took out the National Australian Merino Pairs Championship title at the 2016 Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo. 

The winners of this prestigious event won $5000 prize money for first place, which was based on both constitution and wool characteristics.

Champions from each state were represented in this showcase event.   Queensland‘s pair were from  Victoria Downs stud – Will and Nada Roberts.   Tasmania was represented by Trefusis Merino Stud – Georgina and Hamish Wallace.  NSW ‘s entrants came from Nerstane stud – the McLaren family,  South Australia’s pair were from Greenfields stud – the Sullivan family and Victoria’s pair from Nareeb Nareeb  – Richard and Sally Beggs.
