The Council
The AASMB Council or Board of Directors are responsible for setting the policy and direction of the Association whilst the CEO is responsible for the administration and secretarial functions of the AASMB.
PRESIDENT - MAX WILSON
Max Wilson has been on the AASMB Council since 2016 and is the immediate past president of the Qld Merino Stud Sheepbreeders’ Association, which he has been directly involved in for some 10 years. In addition, Max has been involved with his local sheep show since 1976 on a continuous basis, including President for 2 years. He has been showing sheep for many years and enjoys the opportunities to meet and mix with other Breeders in our Industry.
Max’s family drew the original 10000 acre Wilgunya block in 1953 when v
arious ballots were conducted after WW2 and country reclaimed off the Australian Pastoral Company. Since then he has purchased another 3 properties totaling 40,000 acres, which includes 6000 acres of dryland farming. The Wilgunya Merino Stud was registered in 1979. Max lives on the property with his wife Heather and eldest son Benn.
