Queensland Objectives
(Reference: Rules of The Queensland Merino Stud Sheepbreeders’ association Incorporated)
The objects of the association in general shall be to foster and promote stud sheep breeding in Queensland or the Commonwealth of Australia and in particular to take action in the following respects as calculated to be conducive to that purpose:
a) To improve the breed and quality of Merino sheep in point of type and quality.
b) To afford facilities for members to register their stud flocks with the Australian Stud Merino Flock Register or other flock books of Merino sheep.
c) To secure representation on the Flock Register Executive Committee of the Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders.
d) To conduct sheep shows either solely or in conjunction with any other bodies throughout the State.
e) To assist in any manner possible as may be determined, the advancement of technical and scientific education appertaining to stud breeding sheep husbandry or allied subjects.
f) To co-operate with the Department of Primary Industries, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation or any similar body and facilitate in any manner possible in the carrying out of research work relating to stud breeding, sheep husbandry or allied subjects.
g) To promote the sale of Queensland bred rams and ewes especially those bred by members of this Association.
